- Native of San Diego, born at Mercy Hospital
- Attend Meadowlark Community Church, San Marcos, CA
- married, with two daughters, one grandson
Work history
- 1971-72 Scripps Institution of Oceanography, research technician for Andrew Benson of the Calvin-Benson cycle in plant photosynthesis
- 1976-79 Research Fellow, Scripps Clinic, La Jolla, studied insulin action on cells, the fluidity of cell membranes, and effects of cholesterol and calcium
- 1981-1991 Rees Stealy Clinic Research Foundation, San Diego, NIH principal investigator, studied diabetes and insulin action on cells
- 1991-present Palomar College Classified Staff, instruction in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology
